Hi, I’m Ann...

Christian, wife, mom of two, and Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. This is my story.

From a young age, I struggled with ongoing health issues that never got resolved. I had psoriasis, digestive problems, and was overweight.

In a desperate attempt to feel and look healthy, I tried just about every diet plan ever invented, which eventually led to problems with disordered eating in my teen years. As I entered adulthood, I was generally healthy and always cautious about what I ate.

Fast forward to 2005, I suddenly started experiencing body aches, nausea and high fever spikes that no one could provide an explanation for. I went from one specialist to the next, only to be told my blood work was “normal” , there was nothing wrong, and then passed along to another physician.

Over the years, many of my health challenges started to feel normal. I was still struggling, but I’d learned to live with it, having almost forgotten what optimal health felt like. But by my mid-thirties, an endocrinologist told me I was entering early menopause and then a holistic doctor diagnosed me with hypothyroidism .

I began treatment with natural dessicated thyroid hormone and started feeling better, but the fevers didn’t stop.

I was starting to put pieces together, making sense of years of symptoms that previously had gone unexplained and undiagnosed.

Still looking for answers, I started to research and learn as much as I could about nutrition and lifestyle modifications that would bring my body back to a place of balanced function. After implementing some targeted lifestyle and dietary changes, the sporadic fevers slowly started happening further and further apart. Progress, or so I thought….

In 2011, new symptoms developed that sent me straight to a gastroenterologist and I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I was told I would be on medications for the rest of my life to manage my symptoms. What?! I didn’t want to manage symptoms…

I wanted to heal!

My GI doctor disagreed with my approach to heal naturally without medications and told me it was impossible to heal an autoimmune disease. But I kept researching nutrition for healing because, after all, shouldn’t what passes through the bowels have an effect on inflammatory bowel disease?

Thankfully, my story has a happy ending. Within 7 months of radically changing my diet and lifestyle habits, ALL signs of the UC were gone without medication!

Had I not listened to God’s promptings about healing with natural protocols, I could easily have been symptomatic, on multiple medications, and managing these chronic health issues indefinitely. What a realization.

Needless to say, this healing changed the course of my life!

I believe that God healed me through new knowledge and natural remedies so that I could use my experiences to help others who are struggling to find answers and seeking to make changes to improve their lives.

While not every health issue requires radical change (often, even small changes can have a huge and positive impact), I have lived and learned, firsthand, the relationship between how we care for ourselves and how we feel both physically and emotionally.

I spent many years researching and learning about food as medicine so I decided to expanded my education even further and became a Certified Integrative Health Coach & Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, and launch Wellness 316. Helping others on their journey to wellness is my passion, love, and calling. If you are ready to finally get the answers you deserve, I hope you’ll join me.

Are you ready to discover your own personal answers to living a healthy and abundant life?
